What are the best ways to make your affiliate marketing set-up a successful and profitable business? Here are some suggestions on how to drive traffic to your website and increase the volume of your partner’s business.
• Firstly, your website has to be rich in content. Don’t go overboard with banners as visitors to your site will find it annoying, and you won’t get the results you are looking for.
• Experiment with different merchants to find the ones that suit you, because different people find partnerships with different merchants profitable.
• Try to promote several merchants in the same niche on your site, thus giving visitors several options.
• Choose your network carefully too. Here also, it’s a matter of personal preference; experiment before you settle on what network you are going to use.
• Don’t join an affiliate programme just because many others have. Check the programme out carefully and see if it’s the right option for you before you make a decision to sign up.
• Make sure your website is search-engine optimized to increase the number of hits. A video tutorial that explains the benefits of the product you are selling is also a good idea.
• E-mail promotions are also a good way to increase traffic to your partner’s website. Identify your target audience and develop an effective way to reach through emails that will not be perceived as junk mail.
• Try to get yourself a niche market – it’s not a good idea to sell ‘everything to everyone’. Look for new niche ideas by listening to those around you, asking others what they look for when they go online, watch TV, read extensively, including ads, to find out more about what people need.
• Offer bonuses if possible. And develop effective creative material to increase traffic – your website should break clutter and stand out from the plethora of affiliate marketing websites.
• You should communicate well with your partners, and constantly be on the lookout for new ones to increase your profits.
A combination of the above factors will help to improve your affiliate marketing business. In addition, as in any other business, determination and the will to win are an inherent part of affiliate marketing success, so make sure you are truly committed before you embark on an affiliate marketing programme. Sincere effort is sure to win you laurels in this field, and you shouldn’t just work hard, you should work smart, too!

5 Email Marketing Mistakes
Email marketing might be old school, but it still works great.
Yet people creating and paying for emails make simple mistakes and lose customers.
In today’s economy, return on investment has never been more important as marketing spend is now analysed and questioned by senior stakeholders. Companies can’t afford to be making such simple mistakes and missing potential sales. The fundamental aims of any campaign should be high deliverability, targeted mailing, maximum click-through rates and basic personalisation – don’t let the email be the reason customers go elsewhere.
Affiliate Marketers should always remember these top 5 email marketing mistakes:
Five, trying too hard – designing an email as if it was a website, heavy use of flash or java script, which doesn’t show up properly in an email and can be complicate. Keep it simple and clean, allowing reader to click to company’s website.
Four, ability to reply – adding the wrong return email address either by accident or on purpose to avoid filtering responses lands. Replies can provide valuable information from problems with the email to enquiries about the product. Create a dedicated inbox account.
Three, missing information – need a comprehensive and segmented database. I’ve had this happen to me, ‘Dear xxx.’ Do you think I read it? (Actually, I did. You never know.) Even writing ‘Dear customer’ is preferable.
Two, image but no text… - many ISPs don’t automatically download images so recipients are left with blank boxes. This makes it hard to track response rates. Always make sure this is considered in the email design and use a tool that demonstrates different ISPs or send a test mail to yourself first.
One, stopped as spam – Words in subject lines such as WIN A GREAT PRIZE will not get past spam filters.

Intergrating offline and online marketing
Offline marketing is still very effective even as the world moves deeper into the digital age. We online marketers have seen amazing profits borne out of small investments. Unfortunately due to the low threshold caused by low overhead costs of starting an online business competition is fierce.
Taking ones business to the next level will require offline marketing efforts. This level I am talking about is the stratosphere of 6 to 7 figure profits. Television and radio still have the power to bestaw expert level on individuals that have no true claim on such titles let alone your time.
But most people have told me how hard it is to buy into offline advertising because there is no instant feedback seen with using media like Pay Per Click. The website domain names are hard for people to remember.
Lets write down what you need to do to intergrate successfully.
1) A simple domain name with some authority.
www.xyz123.info is commands less authority than www.thesensiblechoice.com.
2) Selecting the best medium based on good demographic research. Don’t you dare take out a newspaper ad about your website targeting teenagers. Learn and ask the people close to you where do they get their daily information.
3) Send them to squeeze page with a prominent and highly visible opt in form. Do not send your offline visitors to a busy website like Yahoo.com expecting them to find that sign up form buried in piles of graphics. I wouldn’t send them to my blog either. Its too busy. You can’t send traffic from Google’s pay per click to a squeeze page but you can offline visitors.
Depending on your advert and your niche you can thank them for subscribing by giving them a one time offer. This offer must be enticing and not too expensive, (about $3 - $47 depending on your niche). Don’t be too agressive as it might scare your expensive subscribers away. Some marketers use this one-time offer to recover advertising costs almost immediately.
4) You need to build an email campaign that has loads of trust building between you and your subscribers (even though the offline advert gave you some) and you need to make offers.
So I hope I made intergrating offline and online marketing less unerving for you.
As always please leave me a comment if this post gives you inspiration. I always look forward to reading and replying to your comments and questions.

Review : Blog RSS
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a tool useful for saving or retaining updated information on websites that you frequently visit or websites that are your favorite. RSS utilizes an XML code which scans continuously the content or subject matter of a certain website in search for new informations then transmits the information updates by way of feeding the information to subscribers.
RSS feeds are generally being utilized in blogs or news sites, though any website wanting to broadcast and publish information can use them. Once new information is sent, it will contain a headline, a little bit of text, and either a rundown or a brief review of the news or story. A link is needed be clicked upon to read further.
So as to accept RSS feeds, a feed reader is needed, called an aggregator. Aggregators are widely and freely available online, and all that is needed is a bit of searching, you will be able to locate a certain interface that best interest you. What’s more, RSS feeds can likewise be read and retrieved from cell phones and on PDAs.
Once you encounter upon a website that you want to add or insert to the aggregator, the process can be done in two ways. Almost all sites offering an RSS feed displays an “RSS” or “XML” button in their homepage and with one click, it promptly add that particular feed to one’s aggregator. Some aggregator however, requires the need to copy and then paste the URL of the feed unto the program.
Whatever the method used, you can be certain that the feed will be accessible soon as you have inserted it, likewise, in just seconds, the next update can arrive. In the event that you do not anymore would want to accept or take in updates, you may simply delete or erase the feed from the aggregator.
Through e-mail subscriptions, you can receive newsletters. RSS feeds on the other hand, can be more convenient in keeping up with newsletter updates since they are prompt and available in an instant; you no longer have to wait for a scheduled time or day to obtain a news summary, plus, these news will never be detained through a spam filter.
RSS feeds are widely used everyday by individuals who understand and appreciate the accessibility of fast reports and news that can be readily read and only read certain updates that appeals to them.
Aggregators
Aggregators are popular use of feeds, having several kinds. Web aggregators or portals as they are sometimes called, create this view which is then made available in a Web page. Also, Aggregators have been incorporated into e-mail patrons, users of desktops, or dedicated and standalone software.
Offering a collection of special features, such as combining more than a few related feeds in just a single view, hiding certain entries or statements that has been already viewed, and classifying entries and feeds, the aggregator is a versatile component.
Why make a feed available?
You will have more viewers, since now, your viewers can conveniently see your site without even going out and looking for that certain site. While at first, it may seem corrupt, it will in fact enhance the visibility of your site; this is so because users can easily keep up or keep tract with your site, to allow them to view in a way that they want to; it’s more probable that guests are aware should something that is in their interest is available or accessible on your site.
For instance, every month your website broadcasts a new feature. Having no feed, your viewers will always have to keep in mind to go to your site in a certain time to see if they discover something new; that is, if they can remember, and if they still have the time. However, if you supply a feed for your viewers, they can just point to their aggregator and it will instantly provide them a link along with a description of happenings or events at your site immediately.
What format to choose?
Syndication is very confusing as it uses a lot of formats that can usually be come across in the web. However, this can easily be solved as in general, syndicated libraries are used by aggregators which conceptualize a particular format that a feed is in, in order that they can utilize a certain syndication feed.
With this, whatever format to pick is just a matter of personal preference. RSS 1.0 is far reaching, and practical should it be integrated into Semantic Web systems. RSS 2.0 is very easy and simple create by hand. And atom is an IETF Standard, does it brings constancy, stability and a natural and accepted community to support its usage.

Product Review : Traffic Eruption
Image via Wikipedia
My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel. It is easy to read and understand. Joining the site was easy and painless--they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.
The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive--I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes. Inside the site, you create links and ads--the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into "Traffic Eruption" links. You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Traffic Eruption Ad Generator, which is very easy to use. You can create as many links and as many ads as you like. And they are organized in a logical way--links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference. Also, since the link generator is the tool you'll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login. Very smart!
After you've created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic. Just use and promote the new Traffic Eruption link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the Traffic Eruption link is clicked, the page loads followed by a small ad window in the lower right corner. It displays 3 ads PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Traffic Eruption. So if anyone clicks the Traffic Eruption image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral. It's a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.
Now every time the ad window displays (your Traffic Eruption links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members' links get clicked. So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.
And this works virally--meaning as you make referrals into Traffic Eruption (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Traffic Eruption image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks. And this works up to 5 levels deep. So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Traffic Eruption also.
I didn't get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated--my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed. Traffic Eruption even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays. That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.
There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all--downline emailing. You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Traffic Eruption really shines. They took time to make the emailing often enough that it's valuable as a user, but no so often that it's a burden to your downline. But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again. Now THAT's cool.
Overall I have to say I am impressed with Traffic Eruption. It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

5 Reasons Why Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool
Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s. It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one’s opinion on the said page. What started as a single-sentence commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun. As it continues to move forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog’s potential. Here are 5 reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool.
1.Blogging is simple. The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging. No skills are necessary… an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse. It’s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.
2. Blogging is authentic. In this day and age where advertising saturate our lives, we question the credibility of promoters’ claims. However, in blogs, real people share their real-life experiences, unscathed by paid advertising. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. You definitely want to buy a tried and tested product.
3. Blogging is free. Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as something to augment current marketing tools and thus offer it for free. Any opportunity for free webtime is definitely a bonus especially to businesses that are starting up. Needless to say, paid blog pages can generate more income for your seriously growing business.
4. Blogging builds credibility. As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs. As such, you become an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers visit your site and more bloggers link to your blogs. As companies and professional organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.
5. Blogging builds your market. Unless you are a Hollywood star, chances are, only your Mom reads your posts. Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is. But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base. Look into the following ways to build your market through blogging:
-By using your e-mail. Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail’s popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market. In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site. Let them explore your site by using a short e-mail message as teaser to your blog site. If your e-mail is on an entirely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.
-By using subscription. An easy way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blogsite. Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address. Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.
-By understanding your readers. Conduct a simple survey for your readers to understand their profile and advertising preferences. Ask consumers to give you feedback on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you shared. In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.
-By joining a blog network –A network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc. Consumers find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a single subject. Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.
-By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.
Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.
